상윤재는 이당 김은호의 「추성부도」를 비롯해 한국 미술 1세대 작가들의 주요 작품을 선보입니다. 「추성부도」는 우리나라 근대 수묵·채색화단을 대표하는 인물화가 이당(以堂) 김은호(1892–1979)의 작품입니다. 정확한 관찰력과 섬세한 묘사로 사실적인 인물화를 다수 제작한 김은호는 왕실 인물들의 초상 제작을 담당할 만큼 인물화 분야에서 독보적인 명성을 지녔습니다.
「추성부도」는 중국 송대(宋代) 구양수(歐陽修, 1007–1072)가 지은 「추성부(秋聲賦)」의 내용을 그림으로 나타낸 시의도(詩意圖)입니다. 구양수가 책을 읽던 중 소리가 들리자 동자에게 밖의 상황을 살피라 하였고, 동자는 “별과 달이 밝게 빛날 뿐 사방은 고요하며, 들리는 소리는 나무 사이에서 나는 바람소리입니다(星月皎潔 明下在天 四無人聲 聲在樹間)”라고 답했습니다. 이 작품은 바로 그 장면을 담고 있습니다.
동자는 손짓으로 바람이 스치는 방향을 가리키고 있으며, 화면 오른편 언덕에는 나무 몇 그루가 서 있습니다. 그 왼편으로는 담장과 대나무가 보이고, 위쪽에는 보름달이 밝게 떠 있습니다. 작품은 전체적으로 어둡고 차분한 색조로 그려져 가을밤의 스산한 분위기를 효과적으로 드러냅니다. 차갑고 고요한 달빛 아래 황량한 가지 사이로 스며드는 바람소리가 시각적으로 전달되며, 이는 만물이 스러져 가는 가을을 맞아 인생의 허무함을 탄식하던 구양수의 정서를 이당이 회화적으로 형상화한 것입니다.

Visitors can appreciate Chuseongbudo by Idang Kim Eun-ho alongside significant works by first-generation artists of modern Korean art at SANGYOONJAE. Chuseongbudo is a work by Idang (以堂) Kim Eun-ho (1892–1979), a leading figure in modern Korean ink-and-color painting known especially for his portraits. Renowned for his precise observation and delicate technique, Kim produced numerous highly realistic portraits and was entrusted with painting members of the royal family, earning unparalleled recognition in the genre.
The work depicts the scene from Chuseongbu (Autumn Sound Rhapsody), a prose-poem written by the Song-dynasty scholar Ouyang Xiu (歐陽修, 1007–1072). While reading, Ouyang Xiu hears a sound and asks a young attendant to investigate. The attendant replies, “The stars and moon shine brightly, all around is silent, and the sound you hear comes from the trees stirred by the wind(星月皎潔 明下在天 四無人聲 聲在樹間).” This painting visualizes that very moment.
In the composition, the attendant gestures toward the direction of the passing wind. On the right, several trees stand on a small hillside; on the left, a wall and bamboo are depicted, while above them a bright full moon illuminates the night. Rendered in subdued, somber tones, the painting captures the desolate atmosphere of an autumn night. The cold moonlight and the wind rustling through the barren branches convey the emotional depth of Ouyang Xiu’s reflection on the transience of life—an autumnal lament that Kim Eun-ho translated into visual form.
